I believe that e-mails are better than letter writing because they reach the recipient faster. When you send letters to someone, it takes at least one day for the letter to reach the recipient. I predict that most people would want to get their reply quickly. Also, In the time of Romeo and Juliet, they did not have computers and writing letters was one of the only ways to keep in touch with someone.
